We regularly visit over 18
different sites, here are just a few…
Echo
Bay
This is a very easy
and relaxing dive, we can drop anchor in 3 metres and the
maximum depth is about 12 metres. We regularly use this site for check out dives and training. Located
under the cliffs of Los Gigantes the site has several small
plateaus where marine life is in abundance.
Barranco
Seco
This, our favourite
dive site, can be split into deep (34 metres) or shallow (18
metres) depending on qualification and experience.
This is a good afternoon dive when most of the marine life come
here to feed, here we usually see sting rays which are very used
to divers and will come up close looking for food, some of them
have a 2 metre wing span. (gentle giants)
Atlantis
Located just outside
the marina of Los Gigantes. Here we can drop anchor on a plateau
the maximum depth of 26 metres. Some of the rock
formations are very much like the basalt rock of the Giant's
Causeway
in Northern Ireland which is quite unique for a volcanic island
like Tenerife.
Punta Blanca
This is a very good
dive for the more experienced diver. This site is fish soup with
around the biggest concentrations of fish out of all our dive
sites .We can regularly see Bream, Grouper, Barracuda and Amber
Jacks to name just a few. Maximum depth for this site is around
26 metres.
This site is weather dependent due to its location we can
experience strong currents which can last for days at a time.
Yellow
Mountain*
This site can be
done by boat or shore which is Located near the port of Las
Gallates. A very relaxing dive spending most of our time at
around 12 metres with a maximum depth of 17 metres. The focal
point on this dive is a very large cavern with a vast hole
through the ceiling where the suns rays make a spectacular
photograph. If caverns are not for you there’s another route that
can take you around to the side.
El Condesito
( wreck )*
El condesito is a
frieghter that sank off the coast of Las Galletas 25 years ago,
she lies in around 17 metres of water where the front end is all
but destroyed. The stern however is still in tact which has become an excellent
artificial reef for the marine life. A good first time wreck dive.
Palm Mar*
Again located near
the port of las Galletas this is a very good deep dive down to
the entrance of the cave at 30 metres (cave penetration not
recommended).
Among the marine life here there are some of the biggest moray
eels to found on the island.
*45
minute journey by road therefore minimum of 3 divers required'.
