The Local Area
The neighbouring villages of Playa de la Arena and Los Gigantes
are within 10 minutes of each other and offer a good selection of
restaurants, bars and small nightclubs. There is plenty of shopping,
with the larger resort s of Las Americas and Los Cristianos being only 45
minutes by car. |
Snorkelling
Snorkelling is within the reach of practically everyone, its
ideal for people of any age group and is a perfect family outing. Join

Masca
Walk
Masca Walk is an organised trip, which can be booked at most
excursion centres. The trip starts with a ride up into the mountains
high above the cliffs of Los Gigantes to Masca Village. Then the walk
takes you down the steep ravine to Masca Bay where a boat will take you
back to Los Gigantes. This is a difficult walk but well worth it for the
spectacular views. The walk itself takes about 3-4 hours. |
Mount Teide National Park
Mount Teide is a must when you visit Tenerife; the spectacular
luna landscape has been many a backdrop for films and documentaries. The
best way to see the mountain range is to hire a car and explore for
yourself, or you can take one of the organised excursions. There is a
cable car service that takes you a little further up if you wish.

Whale and Dolphin watching - with the flipper uno
Tenerife has long been a haven for pilot whales and bottlenose
dolphins; you can take a trip from Los Gigantes on one of the many
organised trips. These friendly creatures regularly swim along side the
bows of the boat; this is a well worthwhile trip just to see them in
their natural environment. Most trips last a couple of hours.

Water
sports
The marina of Los Gigantes host’s water sport activities from Para
sending, jet skis and banana boat rides.
Safe and exhilarating, parascending is a great holiday activity.
Get a bird's eye view of your surroundings as you float above the sea
behind a motor boat. Suitable for people of all ages with an adventurous
sprit.

Loro
parque
Loro Parque in Puerto de la Cruz houses the largest collection of
parrots in the world; an aquarium with a shark tunnel, planet penguin
with over 250 Antarctic penguins, dolphin, parrot and sea lion shows all
in beautiful surroundings, making Loro Parque the most visited
attraction after Teide National Parque. |
Shopping
There are plenty of shops in and around the local area for gifts
and souvenirs, although most of the larger department stores are in
Santa Cruz (the capital), which is about 1 hour 30 minutes drive. |
